How to Uninstall or Delete an Android App

There are some variation in the process on different brands like Samsung, LG, Kindle etc. Also different versions of Android have a little bit of difference in the option to uninstall.
 
  • Steps to uninstall apps on Standard Android devices:

 

  1. Go to  Menu –>Settings-> Applications-> Manage applications ( In some versions it would be Menu->Settings-> Apps)
  2. Tap on the app you want to remove.
  3. Tap on Uninstall. That’s it.

  • Steps to uninstall apps on versions after Jelly Bean:
  1. Open your app tray.
  2. Long-press on the app until you feel a vibration and the screen would change.
  3. Now drag the app onto the Home Screen.
  4. Continue dragging to the upper left corner until you see a trash can with Uninstall written on it.
  5. Release it over the Uninstall button.
  6. If you only see an area labeled App Info at the top of the screen, it means this is a system app and you cannot delete it unless you root your  device.

  • Uninstall Android app in some Samsung mobiles if above solution doesn’t work:
  1. Go to the Recent apps button, and tap the Task manager.
  2. Now go the Download tab and there find the app.you want to uninstall.
  3. Tap the Uninstall button next to the app.
  4. Press OK and its done.

  • Uninstall Android app in Kindle Fire:
  1. One of the ways to uninstall the apps in Kindle Fire is to do it from the Amazon account as Amazon provides the capability to manage the device from the Amazon account.
  2. To uninstall from the device itself go to Home Screen and tap on Apps->Device.
  3. Now you will see the apps that you can remove. Long-press the app you want to remove until some option shows up.
  4. Now tap on Remove from Device. Mission successful!!
